The Companies Act 2006
The Companies Act 2006 (the “Act”) received Royal Assent on 8 November 2006. The largest piece of legislation ever implemented in the UK at 1500 clauses, the Act is intended to simplify and modernise the existing company law regime, but also introduces wide-ranging reforms which will affect directors, auditors, company secretaries and shareholders of private, public and quoted companies.
