Competition law principally consists of a prohibition on anti-competitive agreements or concerted practices and a prohibition on abuse of a dominant position in the marketplace. In spite of these apparently simple propositions, however, competition law is extremely complex. There are numerous exemptions, often subject to conditions (and conditions on those conditions), and both national and European legislation must be considered.
We help our clients to navigate the legislation and on the implications of both UK and European competition law for their trading practices and their businesses generally.
