Training Contract FAQ

What is the selection process?

Interviews take place in September and offer letters follow swiftly after. On the day of the interview you will have the opportunity to meet other trainees, have a look round the offices and listen to a presentation about Prettys training contracts. You will need to prepare a short presentation on a given subject and there will also be an in-tray test.  You will get plenty of opportunity to ask any questions and learn about us. We will also provide lunch!

Can I still apply with a 2.2?

We do not automatically turn people down with a 2.2, however it is more difficult to get on to our short list. You will need to have a very strong CV in other ways ie work experience. If your 2.2 is due to significant mitigating circumstances, we will take that into account.

Are there any vacancies for 2013 or 2014?

There are no vacancies for 2013 - 2014.

I need a work permit - will that be a problem?

It would be difficult to get a training contract at Prettys without a work permit as you would need to be able to demonstrate the benefits you would bring to the firm beyond those of a candidate that does not need a work permit.  If you qualify under a scheme such as the highly skilled migrant programme please make this clear when applying.

When can I expect to hear if I will have an interview?

The deadline for receiving all applications is 15 August. You should hear if you have been successfully short listed by the end of August.
