Mock Interviews

Josie Beal of Prettys’ CSR Committee volunteered for the Enterprise in Education Partnership’s “Preparation for the Workplace” programme for year 12 pupils at New Hall School and year 10 pupils at Great Baddow High School on 6 July and 11 July 2016.

The programme is designed to prepare students for the workplace by giving them guidance on many aspects of preparing for a job vacancy.  Josie conducted mock interviews based on fictional job specifications for a number of students and was impressed by the standard of the students.

Sue Elliot, Director of the Enterprise in Education Partnership said:

“We were delighted to be joined by 15 business partners at New Hall School on 6 July 2016 from a range of different employment sectors who assisted with the student interviews. The students greatly value this opportunity to practise their interviews in a risk free environment where mistakes will not cost them a potential job opportunity. In an increasingly competitive environment, students of all academic levels are able to develop vital interview skills whether this be for University places or for the work place. The feedback from the students overwhelmingly suggests that they feel considerably more prepared for the next stage of their career path and there can be no doubt that this could not be achieved without the valued support of the business partners who gave up their time on the day.”
