Odyssey News - March 2017

Welcome

to our Spring Odyssey update.  This newsletter is rather hot on the heels of the last but with the end of the financial year looming we wanted to bring you some timely information on tax planning so have included an informative feature from Karen Last of Clayden Financial which we hope will spark some ideas.

This month we also bring you updates on forthcoming changes for landlords which may be of interest and on which we will aim to keep you updated through future Odyssey updates.

Also included is an article from Georgina Rayment in our family team on relationship breakdown and ways in which Prettys can assist to reach an amicable agreement using  our Talking Works service.

Nigel George, the acting head of our estates department talks about why many of our clients are choosing to replace their old Enduring Powers of Attorney with new style Lasting Powers of Attorney.

Upcoming Event: Getting the best out of growing old -  Information sessions, 16th May 2017

Nigel has a particular interest and expertise in the area of mental capacity and to coincide with Dementia Awareness week 14th- 20th May, will be running two information sessions on “Getting the best out of growing old” at our Ipswich office on the 16th May.  The sessions will include an expert panel of speakers who will guide you through:

The event is FREE to attend but spaces are limited so pre-booking is required.  The seminar will run from 2.00-4.00 PM and be repeated from 6.00-8.00 PM.  If you would like to sign up or for further information, please call us on 01473 232121 and ask for Nigel George or email him at ngeorge@prettys.co.uk.

Now we should be back on track, we aim to bring you our next update in June this year, so please do drop me a line on lparker@prettys.co.uk if there are any topics you would particularly like to see covered.

Best wishes
