Naomi Eccles - Solicitor

Naomi joined Prettys as a Trainee Solicitor in September 2009 and qualified in to the shipping department in September 2011. Naomi graduated in 2007 with a LLB Law Degree from the University of the West of England, Bristol and went on to complete her LPC in 2008 at the Bristol Institute of Legal Practice.

During her training contract Naomi completed seats in the shipping, commercial litigation, insolvency and estates departments before qualifying into her chosen field of shipping and transport. 

Naomi has experience in a variety of dry shipping matters, including ship arrest, debt recovery, enforcement proceedings and contractual disputes.

Naomi’s recent work includes:

• Acting for a large shipyard in advising on and preparing the novation agreements for three shipbuilding contracts
• Acting for a freight forwarder in pursuing a customer for unpaid invoices and resisting a potential counterclaim
• Assisting in reviewing and amending a freight forwarding contract to ensure an agreement could be entered in to on more equal terms
