Landlords / Managing Agents: Are you meeting health and safety guidance for your Building?

During these times of high uncertainty and fast-changing guidance from the government, you will need to stay on top of current regulations and best practice.

As freeholder/landlord or their representative, your responsibilities extend not only to the health and safety of your tenants, but also to that of occupiers and visitors, workers and employees in the Building as well as to the condition of the common areas shared by all. In the interests of good building management and to ensure compliance with the government’s guidelines on social distancing and hygiene practices, you will want to consider publishing your own guidance for those accessing your property – whether it is as tenant, tradesman, visitor, estate agent, etc. This is particularly relevant if you employ eg. agents on site, a concierge or cleaners for the Building’s common parts.

Can you afford not to?

We are here to help and can prepare you a set of Covid 19 Guidelines for the Building to set out the Landlord / Freeholder’s rules and regulations relating to access to the building as a whole and for those visiting and working in specific flats. We can also discuss how you want to manage lettings and viewings of properties where occupiers may be self-isolating.

If you have any property related issues, then Prettys’ Real Estate Team has the expertise to assist you at this time. We can offer fixed fee drafting of Covid 19 guidelines for your property. Please email CommProp@prettys.co.uk or call us on 01473 232121.
