National Pro-bono Week 2017

December 2017 - issue 9

National Pro-bono Week is an annual nationwide campaign, sponsored by the Law Society, the Bar Council and the Charted Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX). This year the campaign took place from 6 – 10 November 2017.

Pro-bono work refers to voluntary free legal advice. National Pro-bono Week campaigns to raise awareness and celebrate the array and impact of pro-bono advice offered every year by legal professionals.

Prettys Solicitors LLP takes part in National Pro-bono Week every year, in partnership with the local legal charity Ipswich and Suffolk Council for Racial Equality (ISCRE). This year, trainees and newly qualified solicitors attended appointments at the ISCRE office in Ipswich on Wednesday 8 November, providing advice on a range of topics from family law to employment law.

Prettys also provides monthly pro-bono advice for the Suffolk Legal Advice Clinic run by ISCRE. Prettys is committed to playing an active role in its local community and are keen to support the offering of pro-bono advice to groups and individuals that would otherwise be unable to access our services.
