Our staff donned their wellies and grabbed their shovels to plant 109 trees in Christchurch Park to mark the end of the firm’s 110th anniversary year.
The 109 trees join a rare Montezuma Pine which was planted back in July, meaning there is now one tree for every year since Prettys first opened its doors back in 1906.
Ian Carr, our chief executive at Prettys, commented: “Throughout the year, staff have come together to celebrate our anniversary through different fundraising activities including donating and planting 110 trees in Christchurch Park. We are committed to supporting the local community and businesses and we look forward to continuing our fundraising efforts next year.”
A variety of trees were planted including field maple, hawthorn, wild sloe and dogwood and were planted throughout the park.
The tree planting is part of a series of activities that Prettys has undertaken to celebrate their 110th anniversary and has included pro-bono support through the Ipswich and Suffolk Council for Racial Equality as well as a number of fundraising events, raising almost £4,000 this year for different charities including the Papworth Trust.
