Prettys' 110th Anniversary Year

July 2016

Prettys' partners and CEO, Ian Carr, celebrating 110 years.

As Prettys were founded back in 1906, 2016 marks our 110th anniversary.  Over the years, we are delighted to have maintained a longstanding commitment to the communities within which we work.  We have supported various local charities by running internal bake sales, raffles, auctions, dress down days, quizzes, collections, sweepstakes and much more. We have also taken on pro bono cases through LawWorks and through Pro Help Suffolk, and participate in Will Aid annually.

We would like to sincerely thank all our staff who have given up considerable amounts of their time to volunteer at local legal advice centres, homeless shelters, a local theatre, a local art school, nature reserves and as mentees and mock interviewers at local universities and schools.  Our staff have also regularly dusted off their trainers to participate in charity cycling challenges, netball matches, rounders tournaments, legal walks and other sports events.

To celebrate our special anniversary year our Ian Seeley and other staff also took part in a week long tandemathon commute of in excess of 110 miles and we have also committed to planting 110 trees, including one very special tree at the Arboretum in Christchurch Park, Ipswich.

Connecting with our community is a key core value for Prettys and, for the firm’s 110th anniversary, it is pledging to undertake one hour of pro bono or charity work for every year the firm has been established.  Please do follow our progress on our website, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn pages to see the difference #Prettys110Hours makes in our community this year.
