Local law firm, Prettys, has announced that it is sponsoring a community music event to fundraise for a new Arts Centre.

The £500 donation will support a live music event being held at Venue 77 on Friday 14 July. The event is part of a fundraising drive for the ‘Ipswich Arts Centre’, a project to create a contemporary and diverse performance space for the Ipswich community at St Clement Church, Ipswich.

Ian Carr, Prettys’ CEO commented, “We are delighted to support such an innovative local initiative, especially one that can have such a positive impact on the local community.”

The firm has supported a number of community projects in the past year, including volunteering at the Ipswich Winter Night Shelter, planting 110 trees in Christchurch Park to mark its 110th anniversary and showcasing local artists from the University of Suffolk at Prettys’ Elm Street offices.  Prettys has recently been shortlisted as a finalist in the Community Engagement award category for the East Anglian Daily Times Business Awards 2017 in recognition of its ongoing community involvement.

Simon Hallsworth, Director of the Ipswich Arts Centre, thanked the firm for its donation: “We are very grateful for the donation made by Prettys, which will help bring the Arts Centre to life. All the proceeds from this event will go towards our £54,000 target to fund the first phase of the project.”

As well as the financial contribution, Prettys will also be donating a raffle prize of a simple Will, valued at around £300.

Local favourites, Albion Mills, Copperhead Toad and The Allotment Band, are generously playing free of charge.

Advanced event tickets are available for £8 at www.ticketgun.com/events/ipswich-arts-centre-present, or available to buy on the door.
