Law firm Prettys is hosting a programme of free events during the Alzheimer’s Society National Dementia Awareness Week (May 14th- 20th) to help people understand how they should prepare for growing older.

Open to those approaching retirement or planning for their future, as well as those helping to prepare for their parent’s older age, the programme of events will offer a range of positive guidance and practical advice on things to consider for older age.

During the Ageing with Optimism information sessions, Prettys will be welcoming guests speakers including Cllr Roger Fern, Mayor of Ipswich, financial planner Andrew Duley, life coach and social worker Christine Whiting, Jacqui Martin from Cardinal Healthcare and health and fitness advice from Kim Bilner.

Nigel George from Prettys’ Estate team, who is leading the event commented; “While we can’t stop growing older, we can do a lot to control how we grow older. We hope that our programme of events demonstrate how planning for both the financial and wellbeing aspects can help create a more positive ageing experience.  While we will be talking about dementia, we will also be looking at the bigger picture of how you can best age with optimism.  It’s important to keep your glass half full, not half empty.”
