Prettys are hosting a free webinar for employers on stress in the workplace, which is a significant issue for many businesses in the UK. Stress accounts for 45% of all working days lost due to ill health, which is an average of 11.7 million working days per year*.

In the free webinar, held on Wednesday 13th September at 10am, Prettys will be exploring the legal obligations that employers have when dealing with stress-related issues.

The webinar will be hosted by employment law partner Matthew Cole and Associate, Louise Plant, who specialises in personal injury and insurance related matters. Matthew and Louise will offer insights into employer obligations regarding stress at work including how to prevent it, understanding when a stressed employee becomes disabled, what stress-related claims an employee can make and what employers need to do if such a claim is raised. Advice will also be offered on how to deal with conduct and performance issues when an employee is stressed.

Commenting on the webinar, Matthew Cole said: “We know that stress at work is a major concern for our clients and during this webinar we want to look at strategies for managing employee issues related to stress.  I am really delighted that Louise will be hosting with me.  As a specialist injury lawyer, Louise will be able to deal with many of the myths around work related stress claims and how the courts deal with them.”

The webinar is part of Prettys’ Employment Expert Training programme which offers a range of seminars, webinars and training on a wide range of employment law issues.
