We have assembled an expert panel of speakers who will guide you through the maze of keeping healthy, maximising your money and getting good social care as you grow older.

Cllr Roger Fern – Mayor of Ipswich

Roger is Mayor of Ipswich until 17th May 2017. As one of his charities, he has chosen the Dementia Friends initiative with the aim of helping Ipswich become a dementia friendly town. Roger’s wife, Pat, lives with dementia. Roger is a retired Ipswich head teacher.

Kim Bilner – Health and fitness expert

Kim has been working in the Health & Fitness industry for 25 years. She works with older adults, many living with long term health conditions. She specialises in teaching clinically proven exercise programmes to reduce the risk of falling and Neuroactive exercise for those living with Parkinson’s disease. Kim believes that any form of physical exercise should be enjoyable to ensure you get the most out of it.

Christine Whiting – Life Resolutions

Christine has been supporting people through personal trauma and crisis for nearly 30 years. She started her working life as a personal injury lawyer, specialising in clinical negligence, but then retrained as a social worker. As the owner and founder of an independent private social work practice, Life Resolutions, Christine has extensive experience of guiding both individuals and their familiesthrough the maze that is social care.

Andrew Duley – The Duley Practice

The Duley Practice is a family business, celebrating its 40th year in 2017. They serve private clients across East Anglia and the UK advising on investment planning, post retirement planning and estate planning. Andrew and his team are experienced in exploring financial planning options which they provide through tailored face to face advice.

Jacqui Martin – Cardinal Healthcare

Jacqui’s spent 27 years with Suffolk Family Carers supporting families to source help, care and support in a variety of situations. She now works with Cardinal Healthcare directors supporting Baylham Care Centre, Barham Care Centre and Primary Home Care services with regard to the development and quality of their services. Her parents were involved in a variety of care settings, she understands the challenges in finding good care.

Nigel George TEP – Prettys Solicitors

Nigel gives expert advice on IHT, wills, trusts and mental capacity. He also has an interest in dementia and has spoken widely on mental capacity and dementia. He is a firm believer in the principle that you can live well with dementia, has a passion for good social care and believes in the importance of staying optimistic as we age.

We are holding two information sessions on Tuesday 16 May, from 2.00-4.00pm and 6.00-8.00pm.
