Mediation is widely acknowledged to be a quicker and less stressful option than going to court.  It involves separating couples working through their differences, with the assistance of a mediator, to reach agreement on issues such as how to split financial assets and/or in relation to arrangements for their children, rather than have a judge decide for them.  Mediation also often costs considerably less than court in terms of fees, and even more so when you can take advantage of the Family Mediation Voucher Scheme set up by the Government.

Your eligibility for the Family Mediation Voucher Scheme

You could be eligible for a contribution of up to £500 towards mediation sessions with us.  This is a hassle-free process as our accredited family mediator, Victoria Mayhew, is registered for the scheme and can apply for the voucher funding on your behalf.  Vouchers are not means tested – anybody could be eligible so long as the mediation involves arrangements for a child/children.

The Voucher Scheme started in 2021.  Since then, nationally, thousands of families and separating couples have so far benefited from using the vouchers, and this has enabled them to resolve their issues away from the court.  The inception and continuation of the scheme demonstrates that the Government is committed to and fully supports helping families use mediation to resolve matters arising on separation, instead of the courts.  If you are interested in applying for a voucher or would like to find out more about how family mediation can help you, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Victoria is passionate about the very real benefits family mediation can offer.  Victoria would be pleased to talk to anyone considering mediation or who simply wants to know more about the process.  Contact Victoria on 01473 298 350 or vmayhew@prettys.co.uk
