During our many years of working with our business clients, we have identified that sometimes they would prefer simply to hand over responsibility for their data protection compliance to us.

We have therefore developed our Data Protection Officer (DPO) Services which are tailored to your business, and may include:

  • Updating policies, agreements and assessments
  • Carrying out an audit to identify any outstanding issues
  • Attending a set number of management meetings to understand your needs
  • Offering training to your staff on UK GDPR
  • Acting as the first point of call for the ICO
  • Maintaining data breach registers, records of processing activities, data protection impact assessments, legitimate interest impact assessments, data processing agreements
  • Helping to complete or sign off data protection impact assessments
  • Providing responses to any queries raised by data protection champions
  • Use of the Prettys Privacy Portal.

We provide our DPO services in one of two ways, our enhanced DPO service, and the standard DPO service. What you need will depend on your business requirements.

Get in touch with us to find out more and discuss which would suit your business needs. Email: dataprotection@prettys.co.uk or call us on 01473 232121.

As part of the DPO Services we provide, Prettys Solicitors LLP would be designated as the formal DPO and would be registered as such with the ICO. We would be identified accordingly within the Company’s privacy policies, data breach policies etc.  Each DPO Services client is provided with a specific email address which can be used as a first port of call for all enquiries both internally and externally.

This provides our clients with a cost-effective solution and the peace of mind that their business is in safe hands.

Why choose Prettys?

Element

At Prettys, we understand the legal challenges your business is facing. Our data protection lawyers are specialists in this field and have been advising on data protection issues for many years. We are experienced at acting as DPOs.  Both Matthew Cole and Emma Loveday-Hill hold the CIPP/E (Certified Information Privacy Professional Europe) qualification. Emma also holds the IAPP CIPM (Certified Information Privacy Manager) accreditation. Matthew has a particular specialisation in acting for businesses in the BioTech sector.

Our combined practical experience and understanding of the law enables us to offer both practical solutions and legal advice while ensuring that there is continuity between the two.  This is not always the case with other data protection providers.

As part of our DPO services, clients can access any member of the team, and we will all get to know you, and the work that you do, which means that we can tailor our advice and approach.  We become an integral part of your team, leaving you time to focus on your business.  As a DPO Services client, you will also get access to our document management system, the Prettys Privacy Portal.
