Record amount raised by Prettys for Papworth Trust!

During March and April 2016 Prettys’ various departments across both its Ipswich and Chelmsford offices organised various fundraising activities for the firm’s Papworth Trust accumulator challenge.  This involved each department starting with an initial £50 to kick start its fundraising, alongside an inter-departmental challenge as to which team would be able to raise the most money for the charity.  The various fundraising activities included a cake and coffee morning, an Easter egg hunt, guessing the gender and weight of a colleague’s baby and a raffle which included a day’s holiday donated by Prettys.

Papworth Trust is a leading East of England disability charity which provides support to over 20,000 individuals across the region. The money raised will help fund worthwhile causes such as the Foundation Street Garden project created for Papworth clients as gardening classes and lessons about wildlife and insects; Hawksmoor House as a residence for Papworth Trust clients who have complex needs due to learning difficulties and autistic spectrum disorder; and recreational activities held at the Papworth Trust Day Centres. Activities include cookery, gardening, arts and crafts, music and movement, yoga, life-skills, money management and budgeting.

Prettys CEO, Ian Carr, also took part in the ‘Parole for Papworth’ fundraiser that helped raise £1,040 after gift aid. Ian raised the most money out of all the participants of ‘Parole for Papworth’, and managed to more than triple his original target of £300 for his ‘bail’ money to enable his release from ‘jail’.

Alongside the sums raised by each of the various departments, Prettys also donated £500 by way of match funding.  All things included the firm raised a total of £2,291.22, beating the firm’s previous Papworth trust fundraising record (two years ago) by £474.75.

Jo Revitt, the Corporate Partnership Fundraiser at Papworth Trust said:

“Papworth Trust is driven by a passion to work with disabled people to create a world where we are all seen for what we can do, working together for equality, choice and independence. We are truly grateful for the support that you continue to show us through your fundraising activities; it means that we can make a real difference to the lives of people in the local community. We would welcome a visit from any member of the team to one of our many local projects to show you just what a difference your support does make. “

Prettys would like to thank everyone who donated and all the local firms who kindly donated prizes including Image Beauty Salon, Hintlesham Hall, Suffolk Food Hall, Cawston Vale, Riverhills Spa, All Fire Up, Hair Ministry and Prettys.
